OCEANWIDE MARITIME SERVICES CORP: “Your maritime solutions partner”

Since its humble beginning in 2012 as a Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) accredited Maritime Training Institution (MTI) for domestic shipping, OCEANWIDE Maritime Services Corporation (OCEANWIDE) has now expanded rapidly and diversified its services for SAFETY, SECURITY and ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION into Survey, Audits, Certification, Risk Management, Documentation, Consultancy, and Shipboard and Office Manual Development. 

Currently, OCEANWIDE offers several STCW courses having maintained its accreditation with MARINA as an MTI.    In July 2017, OCEANWIDE obtained accreditation from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) as a Recognized Organization to conduct survey of ships for MARPOL 73/78 compliance.   As such, OCEANWIDE’s services extend to survey and certification of ships for Oil Pollution Prevention (OPP), Sewage Pollution Prevention (SPP) and Air Pollution Prevention (APP).

This 36 year old Palomponganon is an Associate Fellow (AFNI) member of The Nautical Institute. He has served as Marine Superintendent for Seatrade Groningen BV, a company based in The Netherlands, from 2013-2014.    After a year of staying in Europe with his wife, they decided to return to the Philippines to pursue his dream of commanding as captain onboard ship.

He graduated from the Palompon Institute of Technology (PIT), one of the top Maritime Higher Education Institutions (MHEIs) in the Philippines.  PIT is a government state college where most of its maritime cadets are selected under the Royal Association of Netherlands Shipowners (KVNR) PIT Cadet Programme to train onboard ships of the KVNR members.   He also holds a degree in Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BS InfoTech) from the same MHEI.   To further his expertise and experience, he is currently pursuing a Master in Shipping Management (MSM) program, which he aims to complete by mid 2019, at the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy – Graduate School (PMMA-GS).
